This agreement enters into force with the goal of facilitating and activating the border clearance process, and studies show that the resulting reduction in commercial costs is estimated at more than 14%, with developing countries having the most to gain. For this purpose, the Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI) launched a consultation meeting in Addis Ababa on May 22 and 23 on the promotion of cross-border trade, the implementation of one-stop shops, and the importance of private sector support.
