The Commission of the African Union has chosen Antananarivo to host the first meeting of this working group, which ran from March 4 to 6 at the Hotel Colbert. The purpose of the meeting was to capitalize on work already undertaken by some members of the African Union, to promote the sharing of experiences and best practices in order to make recommendations that Customs Administrations and policymakers of different countries could then take into consideration in the development and implementation of their respective Single Windows. Under the patronage of the Malagasy Customs Administration, the workshop brought together different experts and resource persons, representatives of the World Customs Organization, the Commission of the African Union and African Alliance for Electronic Commerce . In Madagascar, the electronic single window, TradeNet, was set up by GasyNet in 2007 and is based on high-level infrastructure.
