Who is responsible for creating the BSC?
The Cargo Tracking Note is a prerequisite, submitted online, mandatory for any import of goods to Madagascar regardless of the mode of transport and final destination (Public Notice of the Malagasy Customs No. 173/MFB/SG/DGD, dated March 27, 2007)
How much does the BSC cost?
The BSC is created free of charge and online, at the website https://bscmg.sgs.comregardless of the type of shipping or goods.
How to create a BSC?
First: The importer, exporter, and their respective freight forwarders must open an account on the BSC website https://bscmg.sgs.comas only valid and up-to-date account holders can create or be referenced in a BSC.
Then, the exporter or the export forwarder proceeds to the registration of the BSC and for this, he fills out the online form by stating:
- step 1: the identity of BSC actors
- step 2: the Information on the goods and their origin
- step 3: the value invoiced to the importer
and enclosing the corresponding required documents.
What documents must be submitted in a BSC?
According to the Malagasy customs requirements, four mandatory documents must be submitted at the BSC level:
- the transport document (Bill of Lading « BL » or Airway Bill « AWB »)
- the customs declaration for export
- the packing list
- the purchase invoice
Why is it sometimes impossible to add the importer to the BSC?
The BSC website https://bscmg.sgs.comis perhaps blocked by advertising window management software or “pop-up” (parameter present in the internet browser). We must accept to display “advertising window or pop-up” for the site to function normally. You can contact your computer specialist to help you.
How long does GasyNet take to handle a BSC?
The contract period that GasyNet has to process a BSC (assign a status) is four hours
When can a BSC be considered valid?
Any BSC can be assigned 3 types of status. The “admissible” status means that the BSC is valid and can be used as part of customs clearance. BSC processing by GasyNet stops at this point.
What information/documents are incomplete from a BSC?
The operator (importer or exporter or freight forwarder) uses his “username/password” to log on to the BSC website (https://bscmg.sgs.com).
Then enter the BSC reference (6 digits) in the search box on the BSC home page.
In the result line, click on the “select” link and go to page 5. You will find the “click here to see the reason” link to help you make corrections.
The BSC is in "waiting for document" status, what does it mean?
This status can have different meanings. There is either incomplete information, inconsistencies, or a missing document or detail. The person who created the BSC is the only one authorized to make these changes.
The BSC is in "waiting for validation" status, what does that mean?
This status means that one of the BSC validation agents is viewing the information and documents before giving it the proper status. At this moment, no modification can be made by the creator of the BSC who will have to wait for the processing to end.
What to do when you have an issue with the password?
If you have any issue with the password, go to the site’s home page https://bscmg.sgs.comand enter your username in the field “Forgotten password “. A notification will be automatically sent to the email address declared in said BSC account with the instructions to follow.
